Rural Jones County, where properties are measured in acres and the hardwoods have been there a very long time.
Haddock is a small community in the eastern part of Jones County, out in rolling Piedmont country between Gray and the Baldwin County line. There isn't much in the way of town here — it's farms, timber and rural homesteads, with properties that run to acreage and tree lines that have been where they are for generations.
Old rural hardwoods are a different proposition from suburban trees. They've had room to grow wide rather than tall, which makes for magnificent spreading oaks and hickories — and also for enormous lateral limbs reaching out over barns, drives, fences and whatever got built near them later. Those limbs are heavy, they're old, and the failure point is usually where they attach rather than out at the end.
JC's Tree & Stump Removal covers Haddock out of Macon, about thirty-five minutes southwest. Locally owned since January 2022, BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, JC Henry on the job himself. Removals, deadwooding, clearing and storm work, with everything hauled off rather than piled. Call or text 478-972-8036.

"JC and his team took down 60 or so dead and dying eastern cedar trees between 30 and 50 feet tall. They cut, hauled and cleaned up all of the trees and under-brush in one day. I have used JC before and both times the work was excellent and his fees were very reasonable. He is my tree guy!!"

"The clean up after 7 tree removals was outstanding! It looked like there were never any trees there."

"JC and his crew did a great job getting the massive tree that fell during the storm. They were very helpful and worked hard to make sure myself and my neighbor were happy with the end results, and all of my property — trailers and fence — that were buried by the tree were protected while they worked. Will use JC's Tree Service again!"

What property owners around Haddock ask us most.
Usually not removal. A long heavy limb can be shortened back to a suitable lateral to take weight off it, or removed entirely if it's compromised — both are far less drastic than taking a tree that may have another fifty years in it. JC will tell you which one the tree needs.
At the attachment, not out at the tip. Watch for cracks where the limb meets the trunk, a bark seam that looks pushed up, or a limb that's started drooping relative to the others. Those are worth a call.
Yes, regularly. Haddock is about thirty-five minutes from Macon and it's inside our working area.
Yes, and freeing a fence carefully rather than cutting through it is part of the job. Tell us whether the fence is staying when you call.
